The recent IntegratESG Partner Meeting in Cyprus marked an important moment in the project’s journey — the transition from the design phase to full-scale implementation. After a year of intensive collaboration, the consortium has finalised the framework for integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into vocational education and training (VET) across Europe.
At the heart of this milestone is the completion of the ESG Roadmap, a comprehensive guide that supports educators, training institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in embedding ESG values into their daily operations and curricula. The roadmap, now translated into all partner languages, underwent a precise evaluation process involving internal and external reviewers. Feedback from VET representatives across partner countries emphasised the need for clearer entry points, sector-specific guidance, and greater digital accessibility. These insights directly shaped the roadmap’s final design.
The resulting version includes orientation materials, a Quick-Start Diagnostic, and sector-specific packs tailored to different readiness levels. Its practical and adaptable approach helps institutions move from awareness to action, making ESG competence development both tangible and measurable. Partners praised its user-centred design and flexibility, noting that it enables organisations to start small and progressively scale up their ESG initiatives.
During the meeting, the consortium also agreed on the next major focus: developing an interactive, experiential e-learning curriculum. This curriculum will move beyond static content, incorporating scenario-based exercises, simulations, and reflective assessments to help learners apply ESG principles in real-world contexts. By integrating data analysis, collaboration, and strategic thinking, it aims to cultivate the skills needed for genuine sustainability transformation.
Another highlight of the Cyprus meeting was the presentation of the IntegratESG Digital Learning Platform, which will soon serve as the central hub for all project outputs — including the roadmap, curriculum modules, Scenario Simulator, and E-Portfolio. The platform prototype received positive feedback for its clean design and usability, with partners recommending additional features to enhance interactivity and multilingual access.
Looking ahead, the consortium will focus on developing the Scenario Simulator and E-Portfolio, designed to translate theoretical knowledge into practical, measurable learning experiences. Each partner institution will contribute a unique scenario reflecting its national or sectoral context, ensuring a diverse and authentic representation of Europe’s sustainability challenges.
As the project moves from concept to action, IntegratESG continues to lead the way in embedding ESG principles into vocational education — equipping learners and institutions with the tools to turn sustainability goals into meaningful change.
